Santa Barbara Made a Movie!

By Jack Presnal - January 18, 2013

In August of 2012, a group of enthusiastic volunteers gathered together and helped the world's only all-volunteer, community-focused, not-for-profit motion picture make it's very first feature film. The Bet was produced by the Community Film Studio Santa Barbara as the first film in their pioneering effort.

Experienced filmmakers were joined by folks from throughout the Santa Barbara area (and far beyond, as well) to make The Bet. As there is a trend nowadays to want to "shop local" we hope you'll appreciate the opportunity to now "watch local." This website is all about that movie. Spend some time reading this blog. New articles will be posted regularly, written by the people who have helped make this movie a reality. Take a look at the photos in the Gallery. watch the videos and the trailers. By all means, sign up for the mailing list so you can be the first to know about what happens next with The Bet.

The Bet will have a gala sneak preview (April 4, 2013) and then two screening for the world premiere (April 19 & 20, 2013) here in Santa Barbara. There is additional information about these events under the Tickets section. We'd like to encourage everyone to buy their tickets to one of these showing in advance to show your support. Our promise, in return, we're confident you'll be entertained.

We are extremely proud of this little movie made, right here, in Santa Barbara by Santa Barbarans. We hope you will be as well. Please "like" us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter, and most importantly, tell everyone you know to get their tickets to see our very first community movie. Your support at these screening will be the difference in whether we can continue making movies with our friends and neighbors in the future. And that is exactly our plan here at Community Film Studio Santa Barbara.
